We arrived at our hotel in downtown Munich at 11:30am,Sunday, July 4. The time in the central time zone (in the US) was 4:30am, July 4. We have been traveling for 13 or 14 hours. OMG! I haven't been able to sleep very good since Thursday! I am running on fumes! I am trying to stay awake to get on this time/day schedule.
The flight over here was amazing. We flew business class and they treated us like royalty. I felt very forunate to have experienced such a comfortable trip. It truly is the only way to travel if you must spend the night on the plane. It was so wonderful, I can't even describe it.
When we arrived in Frankfort, it took us a little while to figure out the maze they call an airport. But we did! Unfortunately, mother's feet swelled up during the flight over and made her shoes VERY uncomfortable. While walking at the Frankfort airport, the shoes rubbed her heal raw to where it bled. She thought she could make it, bless her heart. But when we arrived in Munich, she couldn't take it anymore. She stopped at a store and bought a comfortable pair of shoes.
Once again, we made it through the maze, found our luggage, and our driver. He took us to our hotel which is situated right downtown. The drive was amazing. Their systems, architecture, businesses, structures, etc. It's all amazing. While their systems are different from ours in the US, they are still VERY good. And, in some ways, even better than ours.
Our hotel has no air conditioning and it's HOT! I got mom a fan from the front desk and got some ice for her to place on her feet.
Since it's Sunday, EVERYTHING is closed. Just as well. I am about to go for a walk (to stay awake) and explore the immediate area. Mom is napping. Poor thing, she's exhausted and her feet are making her miserable.
I haven't taken one picture yet. So, I hope to start taking pictures and video on my walk.
